Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground turkey (ground chicken is also delicious)
- 8 oz. shredded melty cheese (I like Spring Brook Farm Reading Raclette)
- ¾ c. grated zucchini
- 2 Tbsp. minced yellow onion
- 2 Tbsp. ketchup or BBQ sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 large clove garlic, minced
- 1 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
- 1 tsp. each of salt and pepper
- 1 Tbsp. organic canola oil
- 4 burger buns
- Your favorite burger toppings: tomato slices, avocado, red onion, pickles, lettuce, mayonnaise
Steps to make burger
- In a large bowl, place ground turkey or chicken and add zucchini, onion, ketchup, Worcestershire, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well to combine everything.
- Lightly coat your hands in oil and form the mixture into 4 patties. They will seem quite moist at this point. Place in the refrigerator on a plate for 15 minutes to let them firm up a little.
- Heat the canola oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties until browned on one side (5-6 minutes). Flip and repeat on the other side until cooked through (~165˚F internal temp).
- Place burgers on buns and top with things you love to eat!
