Spicy Market Mockarita Recipe

Who doesn’t love a good mockarita? Especially one with a little extra zing?! The heat from the jalapeño in our Spicy Market Mockarita adds a refreshing yet bold kickthe perfect warm-up on a cool Vermont night. But if you aren’t a fan of spicy drinks, feel free to omit the jalapeño.

The Recipe

Serves: 1

What You’ll Need

  • 1 ½ oz. (3 Tbsp.) freshly squeezed lime juice
  • 1 oz. (2 Tbsp.) freshly squeezed orange juice
  • 1-2 tsp. agave nectar
  • 1/3 c. Polar seltzer (or sparkling water of choice)
  • 1 Tbsp. tajin seasoning (or coarse sea salt)
  • 1-2 jalapeño slices (plus more for garnish)
  • ice
  • extra slices of lime and orange for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pour tajin seasoning onto a plate.
  2. Cut a small notch into a lime slice and run it over the rim of your cocktail glass.
  3. Dip rim of glass into tajin seasoning.
  4. Carefully muddle the jalapeño slice(s) in your glass.
  5. Add lime juice, orange juice, agave nectar, and ice to glass. Stir vigorously until combined (about 15 seconds).
  6. Add Polar seltzer and garnish with citrus wedges and jalapeño slices.
  7. Pretend you’re somewhere tropical and enjoy!

Substitutions:

  1. Try using blood oranges or grapefruit in place of regular oranges.
  2. Feel free to add some tequila for an alcoholic version.
  3. Rim the glass with coarse sea salt for a classic margarita.
