Thank you to our amazing customers in Woodstock and Waterbury for continuing to support our Farmers’ Round Up program. By rounding up your purchase to the nearest dollar, you are supporting local nonprofits that provide invaluable services to children and families in our communities, as well as our neighbors experiencing food and housing insecurity. Through your incredible generosity, we were able to raise over $59K for Vermont nonprofits in 2024!
Read on to learn a bit more about the nonprofits we partnered with this past year.
January-February
For the first two months of 2024, our markets rounded up for nonprofits that provide food, resources, and emergency shelter to those in need. Our Waterbury customers supported Good Samaritan Haven located in Barre, and our Woodstock community rounded up for Upper Valley Haven in White River Junction.
March-April
Woodstock and Waterbury rounded up for Meals on Wheels during March and April. In Woodstock, our generous customers donated to the Thompson Center’s Meals on Wheels program, which provides meals for community members in Barnard, Bridgewater, Woodstock, and Pomfret. Waterbury rounded up for the Waterbury Area Senior Center‘s Meals on Wheels program, which supports Waterbury, Duxbury, Bolton, Moretown, and Middlesex.
May-June
During May and June, our communities donated to nonprofits that provide spaces for children to learn, socialize, and grow! Our Woodstock location rounded up for The Community Campus, a local childcare facility that specializes in after-school, summer camp, and event programming for elementary-aged children. They highlight the importance of play, creativity, and learning to provide for the socio-emotional needs of the students.
Waterbury rounded up for The Children’s Room, which offers weekly events and a free drop-in space for children from infancy to age 6 and their parents. This experience provides caregivers with a community and children with valuable socialization skills that will prepare them for success in a school setting.
July-August
Our summer round up recipient was The Vermont Foodbank’s VeggieVanGo program. Every month, the Foodbank loads up a truck with fresh produce and parks in front of a local school or healthcare center with whom they have partnered. Throughout the year, VeggieVanGo distributes over two million pounds of fruits and veggies to thousands of families and individuals around the state.
September-October
At our Woodstock store, we partnered with the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD) during their annual fundraising campaign. ChaD, the only children’s hospital in New Hampshire, treats each child that comes through their doors no matter the family’s ability to pay or the complexity and cost of the procedures. They also provides resources to families and advocates for children’s health in our communities.
In Waterbury, we rounded up for the Waterbury Ambulance Service. The organization provides emergency medical response services to the towns of Waterbury, Duxbury, and Moretown. Your change helped them raise money to fund a new facility that will accommodate current and future needs of the squad.
November-December
Our annual Harvest for Hunger campaign supports our local food shelves! Donations from our Waterbury Store go to the Waterbury Common Market, while donations in Woodstock go to the Woodstock Community Food Shelf and the Reading/West Windsor Food Shelf. This campaign allows us to donate fresh produce and other perishables which provide healthy and nutritious food for our communities throughout the year.
We continue to be amazed by our generous customers who give their change (and sometimes more!) to make change in our state. Thank you!
