We’re excited to announce a new Farmers’ Round Up campaign that will kick-off on June 1. We’re helping raise money for Rainbow Playschool, a locally owned daycare and preschool program in Woodstock. They’re renovating to add more care spots for infants through pre-k.
What’s Farmers’ Round Up?
It’s an easy way for our customers to support area nonprofits that make our community a better place to live, learn, and play. When you round up your purchase to the nearest dollar amount, the additional cents are donated to a specific cause.
Why do we do it?
Farmers’ mission is to Feed Our Community by providing awesome food and great service. To us, service extends beyond the walls of the Market into the greater Woodstock community. The Round-Up program is one way we can support nonprofits that are making a difference.
How your donation helps
Rainbow Playschool is a local nonprofit that will serve as a certified daycare, preschool, and community and wellness center. Lots of market kids have attended Rainbow through the years, so we know first-hand the good work they do.
When you round-up at the register, your donation helps:
- Add 1,000 square feet of flexible learning space to their new building on North Barnard Road in Woodstock.
- Add an infant room—a much-needed resource for working families in our area—and increase overall enrollment.
- Improve the learning environment.
- Provide local jobs and help attract new families to our area.
A little about Rainbow
Rainbow Playschool has been serving families in our area for 36 years. Previously, they rented space in the basement of The Little Theatre at the Rec Center. This summer they’ll relocate to their new building, which they purchased last year, across from the Mt. Tom Farmers Market. Their expansion provides 16 new care spots, including infants, totaling 45 children per day in the school.
Rainbow is open year-round and provides all-day care Monday through Friday to working families in seven surrounding towns. They will open in their new space in August!
