PLYMOUTH ARTISAN CHEESE SAMPLER
PLYMOUTH ARTISAN CHEESE SAMPLER
The Plymouth Cheese factory is one of the oldest cheese enterprises in the country-and it’s right down the road from us in Plymouth, VT – Calvin Coolidge’s (our 30th president) former home. In fact, the factory still occupies the same site as it did when it was started by Calvin’s dad John in 1890. Pretty cool stuff.
Fast forward to 2009 when the Plymouth Cheese Factory was reincarnated by Cheese Maker Jesse Werner still insisting in doing things the old fashioned way; making all Plymouth Cheese to the same exacting standards from the Coolidge years but in a more up to date flair with markedly striking packaging.
Plymouth Original, aged 6 months, Truffle and the Smoked (the mild original but hickory smoked) are easy crowd pleasers – all granular curd cheeses made with non rBST raw milk from local cows – great for cheese plates, burgers, sandwiches and snacking.
Package size: Each cheese is 8 oz and is wax coated.
**In the extreme event that a Plymouth’s cheese is unavailable, we will just go ahead and substitute another great cheese from Plymouth of equal value.

The secret to making great cheese is to get the best and highest quality raw milk supply that you can. Like most of the farmhouse and farmstead cheese we sell at the market, Plymouth uses only the finest Vermont raw cow’s milk, free of any additives, antibiotics or rBST. They source their milk supply from a single dairy herd in close proximity to the cheese factory to ensure consistent quality and freshness. What’s cool about the process is that the milk – and hence the cheese – may change a bit according to the season. That’s because the cows may be feeding on slightly different feeds from grass in the summer to hay in the winter.
