Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Thank you to everyone who opted to round up their purchases during this summer’s Neighbors Helping Neighbors round-up campaign! Together we raised $5,056 for our community members suffering from the financial impact of Covid-19. The funds have been equally distributed between the Woodstock Community Food Shelf and the Woodstock Area Relief Fund.

We have wrapped up the round-up campaign for now. This special fundraising initiative was launched in response to the growing number of people in our community who are unable to meet their basic household needs of food and shelter due to the COVID-19 crisis.

How Did It Work?

Customers were asked at the register whether they’d like to round up their order to the nearest dollar. Donations were evenly distributed between the Woodstock Community Food Shelf and the Woodstock Area Relief Fund. Both of these organizations are doing the important work of supporting individuals and families who are cash-strapped due to the impact of COVID-19.

Read a recent WFM blog post to learn more about the work of the Woodstock Area Relief Fund.

We’ve learned through other round-up programs at the Market, such as Harvest for Hunger and Harvest for Heroes, that every penny counts. When we come together as a community, each one of us giving our little bit, we can make a real impact in the lives of others.

Thank you to everyone who is out there making a difference, from our hard-working volunteers to generous donors. We live in a truly remarkable community with a history of caring for one another during times of crisis. We appreciate you and every cent that you were able to give.

Stay well, stay healthy.
