
Macaroons
These are the treats that stop me in my tracks when our bakers are making them. The smell of coconut toasting in the oven is one of those transporting sensations that make you think you’re somewhere other than Vermont in the winter, somewhere sunny and warm and kind. They may look like little snowballs with their tops drizzled in dark chocolate, but there the resemblance ends. Super-moist, super coconutty, rich and aromatic, these are as good as it gets. A little tropical vacation for your mouth!
