Woodstock Farmers' MarketDownload our job application

We're a unique, local fresh food market, relentless in the pursuit of great service, value and quality. We take what we do very seriously and yet have great fun while we work. So you'll find when you walk into the Market, the music will be uplifting and fun, displays large and appealing, and staff buzzing around saying hello while stocking, preparing food or helping with questions. You'll find things quite clean too as we are maniacs about cleanliness and sanitation.

We've been doing this for 15 years at this very same location...recent accolades include best sandwich in Vermont by Vermont Magazine (summer 2004), a mention in Ski Magazine as a great place to buy picnic items in high country towns (June/July 2005), won several prepared food awards by the Vermont chapter of the American Institute of Wine and Food in the take out category. Plus we won our local Woodstock Chili Cookoff in 2004.  And most importantly, you'll find that WFM has a low tolerance for workplace drama. It's either about the food or nothing at all!

We also offer many benefits to full time staff that larger companies have—health insurance, investment plans and earned vacation time! Plus we've got a great benefit that no one else has—a 20% discount on most food here at the Market. You get to eat famous and healthy Market food EVERY DAY!

SPRING Opportunities

There are always opportunities for employment here at the Market for individuals who are happy, responsible and who choose a great attitude everyday! More specifically, current ones include:

Prep Chefs: We are seeking prep line chefs (sandwich makers). Experience preferred but we will train the lesser experienced. These chefs are responsible for making sandwiches--both cold and on the grill and preparing the station for service and keeping it stocked throughout the day. You must be able to read and follow recipes, understand creative food presentation and demonstrate an ability to learn new things. You must be able to comprehend verbal commands from peers and superiors and be able to choose a great attitude despite a busy work environment. You must be able to multi task under pressure, possess the aptitude to organize one's thoughts very quickly and, in general, be able stay cool under the pressure of many tickets on the board.

We are also seeking more seasoned prep chefs to be a part of our crew preparing lunch and dinner entrees, gourmet salads for our cold case and soups. This person must have experience in a high volume kitchen for more than a year and understand how to put great ingredients together in order to make what we call "Market Food."

Cashiers: Ever get bothered by so many cashiers that just take your money and don't really care about much of anything—especially you? Well, our WFM cashiering staff is cheery, happy and very service oriented and we are looking for folks that feel that same way. You must be organized and be able to handle the pressure of handling a busy computer cash register while maintaining a happy disposition. We have FULL TIME AND PART time hours available.

Dishwashers: Our dishers are some of the most important people in our kitchen! Without very capable dishers our kitchen grinds to a halt. We are currently offering a wage of $11/hr for capable dish staff. It's a full or part time position and the daily hours typically run 1 PM till 8PM in the evening. It' a great after school or weekend job!

Garden Center : Believe it or not, we're actively seeking to shore up our staffing for our garden center this spring and summer. We have full and part time hours for folks who love to garden and have retail experience. You must be speedy and must love to multi-task.

If you are interested in any of these positions (or others), please email us your resume or request and we will get back to you promptly to schedule an interview.
