Vermont Lemon F’AYR Cheese
This new cheese from the Crawford Family Farm is reminiscent of a great Gouda...only better. It's got much more character--shall we say--with a buttery, yet rich nutty flavor. It's a great party cheese as it's not too mild, not too strong--it'll be a quick favorite. While it's best at room temperature, it's pretty good right out of the refrige too--plus its' semi-soft consistency makes it a quick and easy snack, if you can't wait for cocktails.
Made in a converted circa 1910 barn on the Crawford family farm in Whiting, VT, raw milk from Ayrshire cows is transformed into delicious 2 pound wheels, dipped in bright yellow wax. The cheesemakers Jim Crawford and his sisters Sherry and Cindy, are great folks with a deep love for their animals, land and the cheese they produce.
